New
Century Blues on Amazon.com |
Slo Leak’s new album "New
Century Blues" is available from Amazon!!! Slo-Leak originally
came together over Danny and Charlie’s love of the same music; the
R&B, Blues and Rock n’ Roll of the ‘50’s and
‘60’s. The duo has great chemistry, truly enjoying their playing
together, despite being different types of guitar players. Charlie is a blues/rock guy, while Danny
plays a ‘swampy blues guitar’. Together they truly compliment
each other’s style, and Slo-Leak is truly a
compliment to their genre. “Danny Kortchmar’s
new project, like all of his many other bands and productions, bears the
unmistakable mark of his personality.
Hilarious, confrontational, engaging, and ultimately, very intimate. Slo Leak is ultra
contemporary, and at the same time, derives it’s
emotional cadences and core architecture from traditional blues. And just
like the blues, it casts what is actually very political in purely personal
terms. Danny combines what has
always been an over endowment of attitude with a surprising observational
prowess. The result is deeply grooving, and wickedly funny. Damon Runyon
meets Howlin Wolf, and together they go downtown to
hear Mark Ronson spin at The Plum” Jackson Browne

Danny Kortchmar's
new cd "Midnight
Eleven" is available from cd baby!!! “This cd
rocks. It's full of incredible guitar playing and great songs”.
Mark Grandfield “Midnight Eleven
started taking shape in early 2004, when legendary guitarist, producer Danny
Kortchmar joined forces with lifelong friends and collaborators guitarist Zonder Kennedy and singer harmonica player Mark
Grandfield. Drawing on their extensive backgrounds in American roots music,
they started writing. Drummer Joe Bonadio came on
board, and by October they were ready to record. The songs were cut live in
the studio with no overdubbing and no bass player. The results draw from the
past without living in it”. |
